How to use it
- Enter an amount in SAR. The result in JOD updates as you type.
- Use the swap button to convert the other way.
- Check the rate date under the result, and the quick-reference table for common amounts.
The formula
JOD = SAR × Rate(SAR → JOD)
To go back, divide by the same rate: SAR = JOD ÷ Rate.
About SAR to JOD
Both currencies are pegged to the US dollar (3.75 SAR and about 0.709 JOD per dollar), so the cross rate is very stable — roughly 0.189 JOD per riyal.
This is a major remittance corridor for Jordanians working in Saudi Arabia. Because the rate hardly moves, fees and margins are the main thing to compare.
Dinar amounts use three decimals (fils).
Assumptions
- The rate is a mid-market reference rate, not a bank’s buy or sell price.
- Rates are published once per working day and cached on your device for up to an hour.
Common mistakes
- Expecting a bank or exchange shop to give you the reference rate exactly.
- Forgetting to check the publication date on weekends and public holidays.
